| Wow, no comments so far?! I LOVE this song - so unadulterated and emotional. The lyrics are pretty basic but the emotion in her voice (especially the way she says, "Baby, sweet baby" makes the listener feel what she feels - utter need for this other person. Love it. Everyone deserves to feel this desperate for someone, and also everyone should feel this desired by someone! | |

Also, is it: "Hang overhead from all directions" or: "Hangover hit from all directions" ?? I kind of think the latter but not sure. |

| Oh my god, I don't even really care what this is about....he lyrics are perfect even if they mean nothing. I like the idea that this is all during a car-ride, but part of me also thinks that this is just free association. A lot of times when i write poetry I'll end up with a few pages of stanzas that are completely unrelated to each other. Maybe she did something like this but then connected them with the "I dream a highway" chorus. Either way this song is hauntingly beautiful and I feel lucky to know about it. | |

| I can't believe no one has commented on this one! Does anyone else see the similarities between this and Shakespeare's sonnet: My Mistress' Eyes are Nothing Like the Sun...? It does the opposite of what most of Dylan's stuff does....by comparing downward instead of upward it invites an unexpected reaction from the reader/listener. Interesting style indeed! | |
