What I get from this song is that she's obviously committed a crime, and the narrator of the song was a witness with photo evidence. Maybe she committed a crime like robbing a bank, where you have hostages and a police standoff and escaped through the back and after a police chase she has escaped the scene of the crime. Since the witness has seen what happened and may or may not have evidence, she frames him for the crime. She says she'll let him go, but in the end it is unknown if she ever does.
I've also seen some people comment on the obscenities left out of the song and I wouldn't blame the person who posted these lyrics for that, because the lyrics posted are exactly how they're written in the White Pony booklet.
Anywho, that's just my point of view on things. |

I kinda think that Illygirl is something similar to Britney Spears "If You Seek Amy" and no I don't mean the songs are similar in any way at all. I mean how the lyrics are done. If You Seek Amy is a clever way of saying F-U-C-K Me. I think she's saying I'm an illygirl really meaning "I'm an illegal" which is why she references Police, Billie Jean & Bruce Springsteen, Martin Luther, etc. It wouldn't be the first time M.I.A. has done a song involving politics. |

That's what I thought too, I just kept it to myself cuz I thought maybe I was being too dirty minded. I thought A machines could be guns, having the A stand for Automatic and B machines were Battery operated, lol. |

I agree. I think it's a great album. I'm glad it didn't have any songs that got played out on it because it's an album that has no songs that I have gotten tired of. I like In My Mind more and more with each listen, to this day. |
