I posted this on the Pandora lyric page, but I figure this is probably a better place for my thought. I'm thinking this song is about the split between your "higher" self and your egocentric world. Peoples self absorption generally will create chaos in their lives. A split between who you really are and what your ego has created. When he sings when we bleed we bleed the same he is saying its one in the same. So I'm thinking this song is about the search for oneself. The rest of the lyrics seem to fit into place from this view. It's a lonely life when you don't know yourself. |

This song as a lot of personal meaning to me. Heres a good quote that ties this song well. No matter how cynical you get, it is impossible to keep up. -Lily Tomlin I think it's pretty clear cut that this song is about someone that has realized that they have wasted so much time being cynical. Then realization sets in that he is only to blame. I think its important to remember that life is to be enjoyed and that worry and hate will only bring you down. "Close your eyes and see the skies are falling" This line sums it all up. It's all in your head. |
