Radiohead – Talk Show Host Lyrics 15 years ago
I actually heard (or read?) in an interview with Thom Yorke that he wrote this song about Chuck Barris, the American game show producer. Chuck Barris claimed to have worked for the CIA as an assassin in the 1960s and the 1970s. Thom Yorke, fascinated with this story, researched Barris and eventually wrote this song to pay homage to his story.
A movie was eventually made about Barris in regards to his career as a game show host and CIA assassin called "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind", if anyone's interested. :)

Laura Veirs – Wrecking Lyrics 15 years ago
This song evokes such imagery, like lucy92 said. It paints such a vivid picture, without giving you too much information.. Leaving it open to interpret. Just BRILLIANT song writing, all around. The second verse where she sings about the king is my favorite verse, maybe of all time.

Regina Spektor – Time Is All Around Lyrics 16 years ago
In response to theclassifieds's post, I agree! That particular stanza after "I don't want, I don't want to, I don't want" is HEAVEN! I also really like her voice during the part where she sings about hallucinating a cat between her feet. Stepping lightly so as not to hurt it. :)

Regina Spektor – Hero Lyrics 16 years ago
I heard Regina Spektor say in an interview that she doesn't even own a television, so the line "And the T.V.s try to rape us, and I guess that they're succeeding" makes a lot of sense.
