"look into my eyes, he's/im not coming back" So, there's a metaphoric relationship between cannibalism and a couple's relationship being established. Could this line perhaps describe how Thom/the persona, feels dead in the relationship... and the other persona/gf/wife/cannibal etc I think the amnesiac album is extremely clever & creative... it centers a lot around these issues about life and relationships, incredibly composed and thought provoking. |

"Hopelandic" is just the english translation of "Vonlenska" in Icelandic/"Islanka", which was written by Sigur ros.... And that song Vonlanksa was just non-lyrical song but still incorporated vocals, like a scat. Bjork uses this trait quite a bit too, e.g Hyperballad. Just in case no-one understood what hopelandic was. As for this song, i think its absolutely beautiful and such an amazing collaboration. It could be in icelandic for all we know! and it could be Hopelandic... |

well then! i believe that explains it all there. haha. Thanks Peoplewithhands :) Sometimes a song doesnt need to be too complicatedly interpreted, instead, its simple and bliss. This song is so beautiful, and it nearly made me cry. My intrepation: Dont worry over the little things, let it fall, be free to let yourself go, i will look after you. |
