"Fields of Barley" means earth, and "Fields of gold" means heaven (Heaven on earth) Just watched the movie The Knowing with Nicolas Cage at the end of the movie there is the scene with the tree of life and two innocent children running through the fields of (gold)_ (barley) Stings words i feel were influenced from the teachings of the Kaballah.
