Animal Collective – Banshee Beat Lyrics 16 years ago
It is 'hop a fence, leave the street and wet your feet to find a swimming pool'

Also I'm not sure about that end line whatsoever, 'You gotta give a little you gotta get a little bit'... Is that even in there?

It's definitely 'what could I do but inherit it?'

Animal Collective – Did You See the Words Lyrics 16 years ago
I agree, I adore this song and I feel it should have way more comments proclaiming a love! I was initially dubious about the pregnancy theme people have been suggesting because I've always seen it as being about new love, but the more I think about it, the more it seems to fit. Not only the examples given above, but also e.g.

Because it's messy yes this mess is mine
though mine is messy yours is maybe nine

I think this could be referring to a man basically telling the girl he's got pregnant that it's his mess as well, that he wont be leaving her to deal with it on her own. Seems from falling love in they were overcome with passion - to me 'test the kiss goodnight, dont keep my loving on my mind' is clearly seductive and basically means let's not wait, let's do it now. He also says that hers is maybe nine, now is it coincidental that a pregnancy lasts 9 months? It's hard to fathom what it means if not.

The pen-ultimate verse seems to me to be saying, we're in a similar situation / stage in our lives - right now we're in the same place. But will the passion last? Do the old couples still grab at each other's wrinkly skin and they kiss and embrace? Give me rabies bring you babies could be an allusion to the loss of control (she had him so riled up he was foaming at the mouth!), and having passionate sex which has resulted in a baby... But the last line, that's just a puzzle. Maybe the cartoon show is the happy situation they were in before, where naively they assumed nothing could go wrong and upset things?

Animal Collective – Bees Lyrics 16 years ago
I think that it could be about that horrible moment when you split up, but it tell the whole story for me. I agree with the people who have suggested it's It's more dream-like, and relaxed - or a 'drunken Winnie the Pooh'. It definitely seems more relaxed than it is melancholy - but at the same time a lot of the imagery (at the start) is the polar opposite. If we remember it's the 'bees' who are saying to the narrator "I take my time - you take your time, please take your time", I think this song could actually be referring to the surging feeling when you meet someone you really like. Starts out so sudden, so violent, the bees come along buzzing, surging... it suggests a kind of scary excitement, a buzzing of activity and intensity which would fit that feeling perfectly.

When you get that feeling it's easy to rush along with it and let your emotions develop out of kilter with the reality of the situation. In that context, I think the bees are reminding us to take it slow - if they represent the feeling of excitement, they're essentially asking you to take your time and not balls it up by rushing in too fast, which in my experience tends to happen if one starts coming on too strong. So it's a reminder that you don't have to rush into the feeling, you can take your time and let things develop organically, at a pace that comes naturally, hence the dreamy happy sound of the track. And if you need the bees, they're still there - the excitement is still there, you're just taking your time and enjoying it... Possibly :)
