I also connected this song with breaking up. For example "I've been afraid of changing cause I built my life around you" to me it means you love them and you can't imagine your life without them because you're so used to it and you don't know what you'd do without them so you cling to the relationship even thought it's not working and you both know it. "But time makes you bolder, even children get older/ And I'm getting older, too" I take that to mean you're growing out of the relationship and getting smarter as you age and ending a relationship because it wasn't what it used to be." "Can the child within my heart rise above? Can I sail through the changin' ocean tides? Can I handle the seasons of my life?" Wondering how you're going to survive without this person because you've depended on them for so long. And I take "the child" line to mean something like starting your life over again. No one else seems to think this though so I dunno. I've just lived through a situation like this so that's what i connect it to. I don't know, I don't know" |

| I love the idea of a pro tick tack toe player, just BNL silliness. | |

| You're both "dilhole" (whatever that means) we have a Prime Minister not a President or a Monarchy. | |

| Ha when i first heard this song I thought it was "I've got ballon in my adidas bag" and I was wondering why. And my mom recently forced me to watch wrath of Kahn, it's terrible, studying for math WOULD be more fun. | |

| I'd like to point out that Steven Page is Canadian and we have a Prime Minister. | |
| Barenaked Ladies – If I Had A $1000000 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| They first wrote this song when no one knew who they were, it was on Gordan which was their breakthrough CD and they are not wildly sucessful, they may have been well known back in the 90's but no one really knows who they are now, and the few people who do are canadian (mostly). But was their last hit not postcard in 2004 or something? That's five year ago bud and now that Steven Page has left I don't know if they'll ever be as good as they once were. And even if they do have a hit it won't be very distinctivly BNL because Steven has such a unique voice and Ed doesnt as much. I'm not trying to slam the group or anything I love them to bits, have since I was about 3 and ya all my favorite songs are older than me but i still reconize how good they are and I'm so mad Steven left. | |
