| I see the mental health side of this song. I suffer from PTSD from childhood abuse, and this song explains how I feel more than any other. Little things can mess me up badly but I don't want to talk about them even or actually especially to my husband. "Putting him off" for me means avoiding intimacy because it is emotionally painful. "Putting him on" for me is going through the motions of sex or whatever because I know I can't put him off indefinitely. And he definitely would not understand because he has not gone through the things I have and had it scar his life like this. As far as the note, I can see the suicide aspect or it could be just that she is running away from the problem instead of trying to deal with it. | |
