ah i thought he said emily too. im hoping it's out of my league though ;) & i aggreee how can john be single? not just his looks, his personality is great. i met him and i practically melted. but yeah i was at that acoustic performance when he said it was about his parents. |

yeahh lyrics seriously need to be updated. i think this song is about a guy at a party and he's looking for a girl. he wants to hookup with her but theres something telling him not to. but then the girls all over him and realllly tempting him so it's like the struggle between "hook up, or not hook up" who knows. could be completely wrong. |

honestly, nobody is ever going to get the meaning out of their songs. they'll say things just to throw you for a loop. they want you to think, if it was obvious they would make it obvious. i've talked to them about countless songs many times and they've given me different meanings each times. that's how they want it. so keep on with your theories, it's what they're aiming for. my personal theory is that it's about a fictional girl and the guy was in love with her, and he made his feelings known and she ran because she was afraid of commitment. she couldn't stand hurting him so she commited suicide. he turned to drinking to help him cope and then turned to denial asking everybody where she was. then he finally realizes it happened and decides to commit suicide to be with her. "im at home in the clouds" and "i guess i'll go home now" too bad she still doesn't want him in heaven. poor alex :/ |
