In my opinion the song's about this guy that is making this girl feel like she's the one he wants, but he's just playing her for sex and for a good drink 'Somewhere between the fake smiles and the free drinks' & "Hotel rooms, cheap thrill dress, lack of common sense" I also think the reason behind the guy's behaviour is because he sees the girl has desperate and clingy to him so he can take advantage of her all he wants. Smart writing if you ask me, just wish there were more songs like this on the album, the topics are really cliche and typical. |

Up until now I always thought the meaning was about being there for someone all the time, no matter what But from listening to the rest of the album, which is about critics, and the end of the bridge, where there are numerous amounts of people talking in the background, I now believe the song is about the bands' loyalty to its' fans, echoed in the chorus 'I said I'd never let you fall and I never did' & in the bridge 'With the weight of the world on my shoulders, you just want to see me fall'. |
