This actually falls pretty well into the whole "Captain Nemo"-interpretion: "This is me for forever One of the lost ones The one without a name Without an honest heart as compass" He was, after all, one who wanted to remain unknown to people; basically a man disappeared from the world. And he was definitely an anti-hero of sorts - the "without an honest heart as compass" really describes him perfectly. He does what he believes is right...but is it just his heart misleading him? "This is me for forever One without a name These lines the last endeavor To find the missing lifeline" How he sort of seeks for a purpose. "Oh how I wish For soothing rain All I wish is to dream again My loving heart Lost in the dark For hope I'd give my everything" Inside regretting his choice to abandon everything he had and become nobody. "My flower, withered between The pages 2 and 3 The once and forever bloom gone with my sins" This could be about disowning his deeds and his past. Everything is gone now and the nobody is left. "Walk the dark path Sleep with angels Call the past for help Touch me with your love And reveal to me my true name" Wishing for someone to still make him turn back and find himself. "Oh how I wish For soothing rain All I wish is to dream again My loving heart Lost in the dark For hope I'd give my eveything Oh, how I wish For soothing rain Oh how I wish to dream again Once and for all And all for once Nemo my name forevermore Nemo sailing home Nemo letting go" The moment he gives up his longing and remorse and accepts the identity he has crafted for himself. Somewhat poor of an interpretation, but that could only be because I missed the more obvious meanings. |

| I love the 2001-version; I didn't really even find the original enjoyable to listen, but musically this juts flows better. Very interesting lyrics too...very much the "those who aren't meant to be together" separated-by-life type of story. | |

Lórien is the name of the vale in which Galadriel dwells, true, but it draws its meaning from Valinor. More appropriately, one of the Valar (basically God) - Irmo - goes by the name "Lórien" which means Dream or Vision (and indeed, those were the domains of Irmo). Considering the first name given is also the name of a Vala - Varda in specific (Elbereth and Gilthoniel for those who know the hymn the elves sing in LoTR) - chances are Lórien refers to Irmo rather than Lothlórien (dreamflower)/Laurelindórinan (The Land Where the Trees of Gold Sing) - the vale of Galadriel (or indeed, the Garden of Irmo in Valinor was also named Lórien). Yes, too much Tolkien here. |
