"It's hard to believe that a man with sight could be so blind" This is probably my favorite line. The song itself is basically a guy regreting some of the things he said to the person he loves. And realizing that there's no one like her, or atleast to him |

| Daughtry – All These Lives Lyrics | 16 years ago |

The first part I understand, where it seems obvious, where the mother is downstairs, and realizes her child is missing. And "All these Lives that you've been taking"... It isn't just the physical aspect of taking the child, but they're also taking the lives of the family and friends with them.. Because at first I wondered why "all these lives" was plural, and it makes sense that It's not just one life that was abducted. And the second part, "They're gonna find you, just believe. You're not a person; you're a disease." The second part is like, to the child abductor, you shouldn't even be considered a person, you're worse and you're a disease because you're affecting everyone that knows the kid who was abducted. And where it says "The world outside these walls may know you're breathing, But you ain't comin' in." It's saying, to the world you're just as normal as everyone else, and you may be just ordinary, but you're not going to fool me and basically come in to my head and bother me "Shed the light on all the ones who never thought they would become A father, mother asking why this world can be so cold." Is maybe meaning, help every other father and mother out who this has happened to also. And most people never even think about having their child abducted, and it's so terrible they don't even think about it, Because they would be asking why this world is so cold, and it's saying to like, give support to other parents who's child has been abducted. So basically I think this song is about child abduction, but that could just be me lol |
