I don't think it's 'but it's a sin that I can't tell the truth' but 'but it's assumed that I can't tell the truth'. And it's about a break up that's happening because he can't say what he means and mean what he says. He wishes it could be different 'just for you, I think I need a new heart', but can't help saying what the other wants to hear... However, he can't do commitment, but he hopes that'll change 'give me time'. I resonate with this song a lot. It's not about trying to get someone into bed, but trying to say what they want to make them happy and then realising you can't live up to it... Plus this song makes me bop round the room in my pants. |
