i think it's about a relationship just because of the part that says: "It ended for both of us" and "your promises seem like lies" Drugs have no soul so it can't end for drugs and also drugs can't run away. this line applies to drugs in that they can "promise" happiness and "lie" leaving you depressed and destitute- this is my interpretation- |

Selling the secret to the sun Welcome to the Universe To me this verse is about a foreigner from a far away country ex:Russian that made a deal with a native ex:American and the "Russian" is asking the "American" about confidential information to the nation. The confidential information will be shared in "another time, another place". Then Jared Leto asks the retorical question: "Where are the holy ones?" then he answers : "selling the secret to the sun" and the sun is the "Russian" which lives many miles away. this is my interpretation of the song : "i lie inside myself for hours" is she is sleeping and dreaming. "in my fields of paper flowers and candy clouds of lullaby" = she can make a perfect world and everything is possible in her dreams. "i linger in the doorway of alarmclock screaming monsters calling my name" the monster that want her to leave her perfect world are the alarmclocks and the need to wake up. "if you need to leave the world you live in lay your head down and stay awhile though you may not remember dreaming something waits for you to breathe again" = you can always find comfort in dreaming and event though you may not remember dreaming as most of us do, there is always something good for you in your dreams so that you can relax and breathe agai IT'S ABOUT DREAMS this song makes me want to go to sleep and dream :) lol this is m |
