Thanks to enjoyyourroots for posting the right lyrics, and I definitely think this song perfectly encapsulates feelings of anxiety and depression, "You feeling stormy? You feeling phoney?" reminds me of what Holden Caufield feels in The Catcher In The Rye. It's could also be about wanting the best for yourself when things are changing all around you ("I should be floating, but I'm weighted by thinking", "Grey is where the color should be"). This song is just so rich, Animal Collective is amazing at putting feelings into words.
Also, on the sample- The original Grateful Dead lyrics Lesh is singing are "Willow sky, woah" and we are intended to mishear them. Genius. |

I think it is actually refering to the piece of furniture, the chaise. Maybe playing off of matching the drapes (that is sometimes what it sounds like instead of "dreams"). Commenting on the time people waste doing things like matching furniture. |

I don't believe so. It's told from the point of view of the person that is trying to help the sick person, but by doing so it has made him physically and mentally sick. |

This song totally ties the album together, the songs preceding it just makes it more impactful, because they all explain, to an extent, how taking care of a sick person can take the life out of you. |

Such a powerful song. I definitely agree with lexington on the Plath allusion. I just think this song is about not being able to give someone the help they need, and the frustrations that come with helping someone who isn't able to understand that they need it ( "I only talk to when you are sleeping, that's when I tell you everything") |
