More tumbling acid thoughts, and it all makes so much sense at the time, and to the maker afterwards. But that's just what I think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCPMufI9zUw |

Also, Miss Cain references to Sarah Cain, a lady Devendra was dating at the time. She is the vocals in the twentyfourth song, Joe Cain, on The Charles C. Leary, Devendra's first studio album. Source: wikipedia |

| Devendra Banhart – Surgery I Stole Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| In an interview Devendra said this song has some to do with how people in Venezula are very much into plastic surgery. Going as far as giving their dogs surgery to look like family members that have passed away. Hmmmm, perhaps was just a thought that crossed his mind when writing the song and got stuck, not necessarily the meaning of the song. | |

| Woot! Thirsty learner, he is. | |
| Devendra Banhart – Onward the Indian Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| A rumbling stream of thought, and everything connects, and one thought flows to another, an all dimensional thread that holds all of "it" together. | |

my friend has my favorite teeth they bend backwards when she breathes Ever notice one person says forwards another says backwards |

Once again, this song sounds like acid. isnt it isnt it/ strange/ all things to do change/ all they don't change at all/ isnt it isnt it strange The feeling/thought of opposites sharing ground. How it's so strange things change, but at the same time they don't change at all. Everythings connected, senses, feelings, thoughts, to physical things and animals. So strange, blood is only in your veins, but love can be felt all over. |

| Devendra Banhart – Hey Mama Wolf Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I feel this song shows the connection between all things. From nature, woods, mountains, to a lover, to a growing baby in a womb, to swimmin'. I also feel Mama Wolf is a name for the energy, the glow of life, not only human life, but plants, earth, animals. He knows what to call it now. That unnamed, I'll say glow again with lack of a better noun. |

| Devendra Banhart – Freely Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I didn't notice error in the lyrics, I don't know about the part in a different language, but I followed along while listening to the song and thought these lyrics were pretty accurate. | |
| Devendra Banhart – Cosmos and Demos Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Thoughts brewed in acid. I've never told this story to another living soul For fear it might awaken and the story would unfold Didn't say it outloud, for fear these thoughts would become physically true, avaible to experience, rather than just acid based thought. |

| One of my very favorites, tigersroamfree, described it absolutely perfectly. | |
| Devendra Banhart – Bad Girl Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I feel this verse 1 is "Person A", who loves "B" so much, and wants to keep them all to themselves. They love each other but "B" needs some space, like everyone does. "A" realizes this, and that it's not fair for "B's" freedom, and can't blame "B" for wanting space, but wants "B" to know, they're still loved greatly. Verse 2 "A" understands "B" needs space, but because all the love "A" has given "B", "A" doesn't understand why "B" is leaving. Then "A" speaks from hurt, and somewhat takes it back, but still is frustrated. Last little chunk is "A" saying they still love "B", but they aren't wallowing in pain, waiting for "B" to come back. Life goes on after heartbreak. That's just my opinion from personal experience. I love songs that seem to be meant just for me. |

Put me in your blue skies/put me in your grey I feel he's not asking to be remembered as the greatest thing since sliced bread, just simply remembered. This songs the sweetest tune! |
