I actually like the chorus being so simple. I really wish I "spoke some Irish" because then I could tell exactly what he is saying, and know when it's just words that fit or some sort of saying? Yeah. Too bad I was born in the U.S. instead. Did I mention I hate it hear? Anyway. Well, I love this song. |

A lot of people tell me Deftones is a horrible band, and they don't get why I love them. I myself, as an artist, can't understand why you wouldn't see anything beautiful at all in a song like this. It's peaceful, and it's lyrics definitely just fit in with the whole song. Most of my old friends just listened to screamo bands that all had lyrics to do with sex and drugs, and there really was no point to the songs, but Deftones makes pure ART. And yeah, art can be basically anything you want.... But I like this art better. :P This song seems to be about how everyone everywhere can be affected my music/art, feel peace and it's like a universal understanding. I just like how it all fits.... yeah. |

It really looks like the parent isn't giving the kid enough attention, and the parent is just making decisions that don't prove anything about love toward the kid, and just living for themselves. I think this could be applied to anyone, not just a kid, but then in a different way.. |

I have yet to see the video? And I know Rise Against is a band of vegans. Yeah. But I think they just like using references to nature to make an example of the impact on lives. It may not be meant to be thought this way, but I think, like the lyrics in the song say, he is talking about the high standards and how it's really impossible to meat them, and he doesn't dislike them, but he has to leave them. "If this ain't love then how do we get out?" The other person, he said girl, so I assume a girlfriend.... And he was saying if what he thinks is love, isn't love, than what is good enough for her? |

Well. This song reminds me of when time is passing the slowest, but at the same time, it is zooming by, and every noise seems distorted. Not like being high. But more like just. Zoning out? a bit. And then When it says: "Half of my head burns it faster...." It's like split personalities. And how when people go insane, no one knows until they kill something. "the only left over thoughts drowns out all memory, so, so, slow...." The split personality - The dominant one telling the other to forget, and go crazy. I guess.... I've read comments saying it's direct quotes from the bible, and how makeup is hiding abuse. All I think is correct. People are hurting themselves, its not god leaving them, how they blame everything else, and now they blame god for all they've done to themselves. They don't see what THEY are doing wrong. I think it has to do with media actually.... Maybe it doesn't exactly mean this, but you could interpret it this way: "New, what do you own the world? How do you own disorder, disorder, Now, somewhere between the sacred silence, Sacred silence and sleep, Somewhere, between the sacred silence and sleep, Disorder, disorder, disorder." - okay. So new, as in the newest fashion, the "good guy" the best things to be, not necessarily just fashion....but personality plays a big part in if you are considered a good person? riiiight? right.. So "how do you own disorder" Like the newest or best thing to be is not always actually the best thing to have/be. Like society has a disorder, and how come everyone thinks the best thing to be is a disorder...I dont know if I am making sense. but i am trying.... doesn't usually work.... And then the sacred silence, yes, would be death, and sleep... as in sleep....Well sometimes disorders, do kill you. -So altogether. How can something so horrible be controlling the human race. |

My opinion.... I kind of agree with xxsystemofadownxx. But I think it is also more of a question, (Ahha!), To either himself, or everyone who has heard the song, or...whoever it is directed to. Asking about death and what happens when you die, and if you really die, or if you just become something else, like a ghost. But the adam and eve thing I get because it's like they are watching, "ghosts are now waiting for you", saying you are no different from adam and eve, waiting for you to slip, or maybe die from poisonous berries.... Anyways, this song sounds good with these lyrics, it just fits really well, makes it a good song. |

Rise Against is in the right mind. I really love this band, they have good sound, but lyrics are good too. It's mostly about how either lives, or something that means everything to you, will eventually disappear. Either way they are erasing all the crap they've seen even if it means the world to them. I guess like making the best of it.... Because eventually everything disappears. |
