I think it's about someone who wanted to be strong and dreamed of violence (as said in the last line) in this world filled with apathy. He wanted to rise above the ''all are equal''. He ends up messing with the wrong people, they threaten him (or something like that) and he thought they were bluffing so he keeps pushing. In the end he realizes they aren't and because of all that he has done his loved one could go down with him. Therefore he tells her to break free from this boring place (town or whatever) and he will too but she shouldn't go with him because he's probably gonna get killed even if he tries to leave. When the time finally comes, for a second he hopes someone will help him but then he realizes no one will because he alienated almost everyone by pretending he was superior (in the beginning). Finally he dies and realizes his dreams of violence come true. And maybe, I like to think, he doesn't regret it because it made him feel, something he couldn't do in this world full of false emotions. Forgot one thing, the part where he says ''He went too far the fucker It's not like I owe him money'' is when he realizes they aren't kidding and he's kind of shocked saying ''it's not like I owe him money''. Well anyways I guess I kind of got this whole story going in my head but I really felt like typing this since I rarely get this much imagination. It probably isn't what he meant to say writing these lyrics but everyone interprets them their own way. ;) |
