And because we always trying to get more we miss out on all the good things in life and instead focas on all the bad things which makes everything worse. I went to see him a while ago back when this album first came out, and he said he wrote this song about a girl only it didn't work out but by the time this came around it was too late for him to take the song out of the album. But the way the song is written kind of suggests that it didn't work anyway so... I don't know haha. But either way, it's an amazing song. |

To me the line 'and I'm not gonna live my life on one side of ampersand' reads to me that shes not gonna just gonna do same the same thing all the time and get more out of life. There is always something more to a sentence when a person uses an ampersand in it and therefore I think, living on one side of an amperside would be living life without 'going to the other side' finding that extra bit of the sentence in life. I could be wrong, just an idea. Either way, I love this song :D |
