I think this song is like everyone said, about the black keys on a piano. i think this metaphor is also about how everyone uses the white keys on the piano, but nick said that this was the first song that he ever wrote using the black keys so i think that it's talking about the girl who isn't like the other girls. and he says "and the black keys, never looked so beautiful. and a perfect rainbow never seemed so dull" and i think that that is talking about the "perfect" never seemed so dull and the flaws never looked so beautiful. i also think that the girl was the "color" in his life because the first couple of lines say "she walks away, colors fade to grey" and when he says "don't let them get inside of your head" i think he's saying don't let other people make you think that you have to be perfect because your perfect to me just the way you are. (: that's just the way i look at it. this and fly with me are my favorite off of the new album. i looooove nick too! |
