Seems pretty straightforward with lyrics. But I think this song is one of the most uninspired on the album, it goes away from the awesome psychedelic feel of the other songs to a trite pop sound. |

I absolutely love this song. It seems to be about the progression "the promised land" is a family and wealth. In the beginning he is young and comes home out of the cold and shares his adventures with his family about being "a million miles from home" He eventually acquires the "promised land" and he's on the inside looking out, so then his son comes home and he eagerly asks "what's the news where you been?" So he has acquired the promised land but grown old in the process. |
