Anybody notice how when slug writes a song about his everyday life such as:"aspiring sociopath","like today" but especially "Always coming back home to you" Slug never portrays himself as a thug or "gangsta" from the streets like a lotta rappers do, and its obvious he hasn't lived the average straight edge side of american life either. the way i see it this is where trying to find a balance comes from and pretty much defines his music as different. In the days of Kings and Queens I was a jester Treat me like a God, oh they treat me like a leper You see me move back and forth between both I'm trying to find a balance I'm trying to build a balance I might be getting off here but perhaps the days of Kings and Queens is a reference to his high school days (Prom Queens, jocks, kings of school etc.) And Slug was the class clown, see the name "Sad clown bad dub" "I'm trying to build a balance" - either refering to his family/kids or the music genre he calls indie rap |
