okay, I take it that you're not a big Bright Eyes fan because if you were you'd realize and know that he likes a very cumbersome start to ward off just casual listeners (that's why he has the beginning conversation, but he could have made it shorter, I guess). This is one of his most emotional songs on LIFTED and again when you go to Bright Eyes it's not usually about musical complexity or production value it's for emotion or poetry or for his "shaky voice" because that stuff you can't find elsewhere or at least as well orchestrated as Oberst does. But I don't want to sound like a jerk off I'm just giving my opinion, like you were I just hope I you might like the song better after my evaluation of some of, what you found, its negatives. (P.S. to you guys bitching about his shaky voice go fuck yourself, listen to some faggy 3oh3 or some shit cuz his shaky voice just so happens to make him a better singer than plant. cunt) |

| Ok, now Crillz. Obviously I wouldn't expect you to know this but your interpretation of this song is wrong. And you can think mine is wrong but I'm pretty damn sure it's right. The lyricist [Patrick Stickles} grew up just down the street from me in Glen Rock. We both attended the same elementary school (central) and you can check these facts in my time outside the womb. San Francisco is where GRHS went for the choir trip some amount of years ago and he was on it. That's why it says san francisco. Mr. Mcdermmet is a high school math teacher who chaperoned the trip. and you were probably right about the tripping on acid, and evidently they were taking hits from a bong or of some alcahol and he passed out or something. | |
