| Fistful of Mercy – As I Call You Down Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
When the singer is down, he silently calls on the one he loves, who loves him just as much; and knows WHY he feels like he feels; what it feels like; and why he does the things he does or does not do, but loves him ANYWAY.... He has always known that they are ultimately inseparable; but attempts to control it by avoiding her. He wants to call out loudly to her when he's in need; but remains quiet; avoiding the fact that his REAL NEED is to learn to give up his control, and lay it on down in order to stay beside, and with her; the one he really loves. And the one who really loves him, unconditionally. |

If you watch the live version video of this song that comes along with "One Cold Night;" it's very clear, both audibly & visually, that Shaun purposefully "slips" on the title of the song and sings the word "GUILT." I'm incredibly confident this was the original title of the song until corporate came along and made them change it to "GIFT", as they did with everything that this amazing South African band, originally named "Saron Gas" created. ultimately resulting in a wonderful F-you song called "Fake It"......So self-evident, even the greedy label couldn't resist releasing, because they saw a dime in it for themselves. They are truly the despicable hypocrites Shaun calls them out on being. I say Bravo for not giving the sh*tty label another love song, but, exactly what they deserved, in lieu of. Kudos, Shaun! xo |

| The Jimi Hendrix Experience – All Along the Watchtower (Bob Dylan cover) Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I think it's a conversation Between God (The Joker) and The Devil (The Thief) regarding society, and what is happening; along with what will happen....i.e.; What is to come, and what is written. It ends with: "Outside in the cold distance A wild cat did growl Two riders were approaching And the wind began to howl" I think this represents Armageddon. Revelations 16:16 I say this because I have done the following: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. -Matthew 7:7 |

| Elliott Smith – 2:45 AM Lyrics | 16 years ago |

My take: The bars close at 2 am. It probably takes a drunk (who'd rather keep drinking) at least 45 mins to unwillingly arrive home. An innocent child in the home of an absent-all-evening, angry and abusive drunk ALWAYS watches a clock, and puts themselves on warning. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why "2:45" is the name of the song. Figuring out the rest of the lyrics shouldn't take one, either. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please... |
