For me this is one of the songs that hit me really hard, and i can relate to it all to well. i have bipolar, so the line "neither side is sacred, noone wants to win" is like the two moods (depression and mania) conflicting but neither sticks. and "taking medication till my stomach's full" is pretty self explantory. when you have bipolar you have to tak loads of meds, for me it's about 10-12 pills aday! and i've heard that Kurt might have had bipolar, judging from everything i've read about him (not to mention the song 'lithium' (most common drug for bipolar/schizopheria)) i would think it was very likely he suffered from it..... and "you're the reason i feel pain" might be about the disorder, it's very easy to start personifying the illness, "feels so good to feel again" i can relate to that too, generally with bipolar you feel the extreems that most people can't even imagine, but sometimes with the depression you just feel numb, so then feeling anything, even if it's horrible, is a bit of a relief. |
