Tyrone Wells – Sink or Swim Lyrics 14 years ago
I agree that it is most likely about love, but it reminds me of Suzanne Collin's CATCHING FIRE (the second book in the HUNGER GAMES series).

Green Day – 21 Guns Lyrics 14 years ago
I believe this song has duel meaning, but to me, it connects on a spiritual level.

The first part of the song is talking about what you would be willing to do to follow God. Would you be able to suffer through the pain to go to Heaven, or would you rather enjoy the pride on earth and not believe in Him and go to Hell? Without Him, you are a mess.

Next verse: Will you remain close to Him through all of the trials and problems of life, even when everything seems to go wrong? It is like you are stuck in life, and you can't find what the right thing to do next would be. But that's the way of life.

Next to last verse: When you tried to prove that you didn't need anyone (including God) you destroyed everything you had built between you and others and you were turned back to Him, begging forgivness. The "liar" and the "stone".

Last verse: You turned yourseld away from Him, didn't ask him into your heart, and when you died and realized that God was real, you beg for a second chance, but you can't have it - nobody can. You had your whole life and you turned away from him. You made you mistakes in the past, and it left you there, in Hell.

I believe the chorus is about giving high respect to those who did believe. But I don't know. The chorus puzzles me.

I don't know if this is true, but it makes sense to me!
