Architects – Early Grave Lyrics 16 years ago
The best opener an album could hope for! I reckon it's just about fast living and, thus, fast dying. Not having any regrets, though knowing you've fucked yourself up and there's no way back.

Awesome.

Architects – We’re All Alone Lyrics 16 years ago
I think you're closest to it. I didn't get the romance element at all - it seemed like a jaded parent thinking about their child who's growing up, realising how shit life actually is. They don't want to let their child go and they obsolete becuase they're leaving home or simply needing them less and less. The 'yet I sleep alone tonight' and bitter tone suggest this. The lines: "I am your hero" and "In years you'll thank me/ For getting everything right" suggest that rather than a romantic relationship. Also, the watching over but in a grudging, tired and empty way. I guess I can see this in my own parent, so that might be a bias.

Ace tune.
