I just finished Macbeth in English class today and there's a few parts that remind me of this song. "I don't ever wanna go to bed" - How Macbeth lost the ability to sleep "Lie to all your friends" - The charade Macbeth and his wife put on after they committed the murders "A usurper to the holy throne" - How Macbeth took over the throne under foul play "My eyes are lungs" - I think one of the witches says something about eyes without their own sense or something like that "I know how you'll die" - the witches know the fate of Macbeth I know the song is pretty obviously not written about the play, but this was interesting. |

From the live version I hear: "No one saved me so I'm sinking slowly from... (?) there is nowhere that is safe tonight" |

| Wow, I think you pretty much nailed it. | |

| not exactly sure how that works in the context of the song, but we still don't know the chorus. | |

| haha, I was actually refuting the original comment, saying that Vin wouldn't write something about Jesse and expect him to sing it passionately. | |

| If you listen to the very beginning closely, you can hear the noises from the end of Gasoline. It could be meaningless, but it's an interesting find. | |

| It sounds like it's either Vin, or just Jesse in a low register. | |

| I don't think that's it at all. It's like Vin said "Here, I wrote some things about you, and you get to sing them." | |

| I figured the electric kite thing was a reference to Ben Franklin. | |

Little city's names are burned on the maps I hear the burned more than written. |

| Brand New – Bed Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It's confirmed that it's 'Later' not 'laid her'. | |
| Brand New – Vices Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| i'm almost positive it's 'manger', he clearly enunciates the m sound. | |

| Or, like Jesse said in one the interviews, to quit music and just work in contrstruction or something average like that. | |

| Yeah, I'm more partial to lurking. The community can get pretty nasty sometimes, so I find it easier to keep to myself the majority of the time. | |

final version: "So you tried to put a fire out, but you used gasoline, and when the congregation gathered round, you're screaming 'it wasn't me'." "you think that no one else is lonesome, you think that you're the only one" and i'm almost positive it's 'drown in', not 'treading'. |

I think one of the lines in the [????] part is "Where is my shrink and my mind's eraser?" and something about a kid in a manger (Jesus, obviously). |

"The sun is just a horn; is the light outside." I think it's "the sun is just a hole, it is the light outside." It fits the 'jar' metaphor a little more, considering when people but living things in jars they tend to put holes in the top for air. |

When the army had to hold the line, you were nowhere near the front; Before the kids could tell the dog goodbye, you were loading up your gun. basically saying, why are you being such a coward when it matters as far as violence, yet you didn't hesitate to execute a sick dog? brilliant, me thinks. |

I really like the line: 'Coming down the aisle while the horns play Taps' since the two formalities each part is related to conflict so much. |
