This song to me is about him moving around with his job and everything, like he is starting to get famous or whatever and having less and less time as it goes on.. "From the air, stadium lights stand out like flares and all I know is that you're sat here right next to me" Shes there at the beginning, then she tells him shes going away to school or something and so she cant be with him, like she cant keep waiting for him and going with him or whatever, "You say you need me to step outside" Maybe they knew all along that she would have to be going to school thats why he feels let down, "You have to leave, I appreciate that" and the conversation slipping out of their grasp is the distance between them, so they cant be together they just have to write to eachother, and her un packing books from boxes is her at uni or whatever... I just adore this song xx |
