like most (metalcore, hardcore, grundgecore), whatever you want to call it I believe its the result of a breakup. What relationships have come to today. Someone did him serious emotional harm. Nearly every style of music has embraced the concept and, just like people, express it differently. You have your emo, "oh woose me, pitty me". drawing attention to yourself and all. Like i said, different people express it differently.
