| Seems to me kind of like she's a good-girl-gone-bad. I'm not quite sure, but it seems like the girl he's singing about was innocent and good, but then she kind of became a whore and left him for some other guy, and became a tease. Just my interpretation. I'm not great at this, but I think it's a cool site and I like giving my thoughts on the song :) | |

Seems basically like he is in a horrible state or period in his life, and basically, when he gets together with or even thinks about this girl (Ashley) then it all seems to go away. She takes away his pain and gives him a reason to love. Aww, so beautiful and romantic. I wish my name were Ashley <3 |

I love this song. It's one of my favorites by ETF, old AND new. I think the meaning of the song is so relatable to many people. I'm sure it's about a cheating lover. Pretty much the first four lines sum it up. \\\ You said this could only get better There's no rush, 'cause we have each other You said this would last forever But now I doubt if I was your only lover \\\ This signifies that she is unfaithful, and the chorus obviously shows that he still loves her. The second verse seems to me like he had suspicions "How can I miss you if you never would stay/If you need time I guess I'll go away" but he still loved her enough to trust her. And the "I'll make the call" part seems like he knows it will be hard, but it's what's best for him. Amazing song. Can't get enough of it; I find it on repeat a lot. I'm sure it's been playing in many people's ears when their lover was unfaithful. I know I love it. Everything about it is amazing. |
