| i like this interpretation. one thing i noticed is the peculiar way the last lines are sung. the way the words are slightly slurred and not enunciation makes it sounds like "and i kill myself," which could related to being suicidal from addiction/the come down | |

Kinda sounds like this songs from the point of a view of a guy (or girl) who's young and afraid to become grown up and have kids and such. The "norms" in society are to get married and have kids and raise them until you're gone, hence the "I'm not the way I ought to be/ I'm just the way I got to be," he would "hurt you emotionally" because he's not looking for a wife or a commitment, since those are his exact fears. The rest follows as fairly straightforward with this interpretation except for maybe this line: "Call me lazy for I have yet to let my soul free/ it's still very much in my reach" I'm thinking that this line just means that people are telling him that he needs to let his soul go free and find love for himself, but he's still very under control of it, and afraid to let it go. |

Baby, so you think you know crazy I think you know what you know, But what you know you don't know for sure Baby, you wanna see me crazy Well I show you what that's like, And then I wave goodbye as you run for your life A little advice for aspiring fires You'll get put out if you don't get a little wild Try again, try again, get it right, you don't got to Google it just to lose you mind You're not gettin' it right, ayee ayee yeah Maybe, you're watching too much TV, (ooh) Because crazy in the box, is everything that crazy's not A little advice for aspiring fires You'll get put out if you don't get a little wild Try again, try again, get it right, you don't got to Google it just to lose your mind I'm losing my mind I'm losing my mind again Now a fires a friend Not to try to feel you're crazy A little advice for aspiring fires You'll get put out if you don't get a little wild Try again, try again, get it right, you don't got to Google it just to lose your mind You're not gettin' it right, ayee ayee yeah Baby, you wanna see me crazy Baby, you wanna see me crazy Ooh (you're not getting it right) ayee ayee yeah Well I show you what that's like And then I wave goodbye as you run for your life |

To me kinda sounds like this songs about a depressed/suicidal prostitute: "so tell me how to do it slow/ i'm a maze" - kinda self explanatory "make a pretty face and say i'm fine/ im okay/ only in the nighttime" - I guess you could interpret "only in the nighttime" in 2 ways, either she only needs to put on this front of happiness and say shes "okay in the nighttime" because thats when shes most depressed/ being used. The other way of interpretation is that shes only truly happy in the nighttime because when she can finally "say goodnight" and sleep is the only time she has to herself to enjoy her life. "love is the only thing i ever needed" - also pretty self explanatory, even though she lives this life where sex is her means of living she still has never really experienced love, and thats all she really wants or needs. Just my two cents on this amazing song :D |

| i love this song. the snake is a religious symbol for original sin (religion obviously plays a pretty big part in this song), but the thing i love the most about this song is how its framed by transitions revolving around a television set. The first transition occurs when the son whos parents just died looks into the tv and sees the child who then has a seizure. The other transition occurs at the very end of the song when the doctor look into the tv and its back to the original son holding the snakes head. To me these two transitions completely blur whats real in this song. We're led to believe that everything is happening in real life throughout this song, yet by the end it seems that the majority of the events in this song have occurred on a television set in the sons house. or perhaps its the other way around as well? maybe it was the violent act of the father killing the mother that caused the little girl to seize, which was the catalyst for the rest of the events in the body of the song. Either way this song completely blows me away, cage has an amazing talent for haunting imagery and storytelling. | |

I always thought when he sang "Now I see that you fell asleep again" he was actually saying "now i see where your fantasy began" both interpretations are pretty cool imo :D |

| the last line should say "Ballbuster, a great new game from Unkle!" | |
| The Avalanches – Radio Lyrics | 16 years ago |

it almost sounds like they say "sending those signals, those two doodles." also i think they say "sometimes you do understand" instead of "two times you do understand" |

Oh boy i like this song. i have a different interpretation though, a slightly more violent one. i kinda think its about a guy killing his girlfriend/ wife. to me, when he says "I want you to know When I look in your eyes With every blow Comes another lie" its like all the things shes said and done to him have finally added up. so hes got her on the ground and he's looking in her eyes, and everytime he hits her its like the lies shes told him are finally coming out. like she was doing all this stuff to him and she though he didn't know "You think its alright," but he really does know and he takes it out on her and eventually ends up killing her "can't you feel the knife?" its pretty violent but it somehow seems to fit the song for me. quite a fantastic song in my opinion |
