| Amy Winehouse – Best Friends, Right? Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Its not 'dro' its draw, as in a bag of weed. The song is about Juliette Ashby, and the period when they lived together as it references knowing each other since they were kids, and smoking marijuana together. It shows that living with someone can make you hate each other at times, but shows how much they both loved each other at the same time. Definitely not about a boyfriend, and definitely not about smoking cigarettes, duh | |

I generally have so much love for this song. The bridge is so so good ! "Im through trying to hold onto this, because you seem to be over it. So kiss these almond eyes goodbye, because this, this is the last time you'll see them cry" It describes perfect the mixture of feelings when it comes to the end of a relationship with a loved one. The contrast in the desperation to kiss them and be with them with that everlasting solitude and comfort that comes with hope, and the angst you feel towards them for their irrefutable actions. I think the whole song describes a boy, having worked hard for a while to try and fix the foundations and cracks in his weather relationship with a girl, and hes finally had enough of being blamed for the mistakes made, and is making a point that this is the last time hes prepared to deal with the repercussions because he knows its a never-ending circle, and the only way he can make this girl see sense is to show her that hes had enough. Its make or break, and whether she chooses to acknowledge her own mis-doings, swallow her pride and work it out with him, or lose him forever. Even though the song is basically a "fuck you" anthem, you can still recognise the doubt in his voice ever so slightly, and the regret things didnt turn out the way he'd hoped. |

| Silverstein – Discovering The Waterfront Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song is one of my favourites in the whole wide world. I believe its basically describing a break up, where the vocalist is talking about how hes dealing with the situation, hence the confusion and controdiction in the lyrics, talking about not caring, and then saying the girl hes in love with can see how hurt he is. With most relationships each break up is different, but the standard rule is to look like your so much better off and you dont miss them every second of the day, you dont wonder what they are doing, you dont cry when you hear that certain song or feel like your having a heartattack when you know the other person is having a fling with someone else. The saddest thing about this track is that you dont even need to listen to the lyrics to feel his pain because the tone of his voice literally drips with empathy and heartache. The song starts off strong and gradually he mellows and strains to keep his barriers up, with the end of the song coming back to a narrative equilibrium and his walls back up. Hes clearly no where near over her, but he doesnt understand who shes become, and he misses the way she used to be. Hes crying out for her to come and save him, but its clear she isnt going to come. ♥ | |
