I think this song has a lot of irony embedded within it. It could be talking about how teens tend to rebel against established authorities, but it's all an act (for some): "a rebel from the waist down" "you say you want a revolution, man and I say that you're full of shit" ------------------------------------------------------------------ Also, maybe, just maybe this teens end up growing up and becoming the authority they have hated for so very long: "and don't be surprised, don't be surprised don't be surprised when we destroy all of it" On the outside it sounds like they are destroying the authority, but the "it" might be this rebellious attitude and lifestyle they claim to uphold. They destroy it by growing up and changing their ways, for better or worse. Just a different way of looking at it I guess. Who knows. |
