I believe it means that he feel's so lonely. He feel's so sad cause he feel's nothing but cold, emptiness. His last ex used to be so kind and nice to him, but something happened between them. He's wasted so much time planning on getting her back, that he hasn't made a move to get her back, now he's too late. He doesn't want her to leave, she's what helped him see the bright side, but he can't help it, she's leaving. He's falling into the darkness(confusion, hatred, sorrow), wondering if he can ever go back to the time when they were happy together. She used to be his reason to live, his reason to move on, he traded everything he had, just for her love, cause he found it to be equivalent in worth. He can't take it back, even after he offered to trade it, she wouldn't take his love, and now he can't take it back, he's weak, and can't help it. His heart's sceaming her name from the eternal abyss of confusion and sorrow. Now, he hasn't made it outside the abyss of darkness, and she's just gonna leave him there. There, he either fights off the darkness, fight's it off enough so that he survives, let's the darkness kill him. or let's the darkness cut him. |
