Nick Jonas & The Administration – Who I Am Lyrics 14 years ago
I think people are deviating from the purpose of this site. We are not supposed to criticize the song, like if it is bad or good, or if the artist is bad or good... We are here to think, imagine, contrast, watch, see details... about the MEANING of the song. A point of view based on the literature that is inserted on the song.

on the first strophe I guess there's a bit of guilty in the thought of wanting someone who loves him, because he asks: is that so bad?

on the second strophe we see an existing feeling of passion, as he's already in love (Nothin' is right when you're gone) and that makes the listener think: he wants someone who loves him for what he is, or he has someone who doesn't love him for what he is?

still on this strophe he shows a fear of beeing weak. Is the fear of not finding someone who sees him like he really is and love him? Or is he questioning the person with whom he is in love if she would love him for what he is if she discovers it...? He believes that he has a right to be wrong. When there's a very strong passionate nonsense feeling of love people are used to do wrong things and they use the idea of extreme love to get absolved from the bad things they did. If he's losing this right, we can suppose he's losing the passion.

he wants to break the madness, he wants to shake off all the pain... more than wanting happiness he's searching for freedom. freedom of a bad feeling that is getting him down for a long time (as he says: breaking my heart once again)

so he clearly questions: are you gonna love me for who I am?

Or... ?? (you go on)
