I also noticed that these lyrics are wrong: "there's a summer draw
With two in it tonight" is actually "there's a summer drawing to an end tonight."

I think this song is most likely about a summer romance, but it could also be about a guy and a girl who are breaking up but on the eve of his departure start falling for each other agian... or maybe realize that they really do belong together. "in the midst of the music, i tell her i love her and we both laugh 'cause we know it isn't true"- why would you laugh when someone tells you they love you unless they've said it so many times before that you don't believe them? |

You have it backwards- the "cool" and "strong" people are outside the fire. They only appear cool and strong because they haven't taken a risk and gotten burned. Those inside the fire are the "weak" and "unpopular" crowd. They are viewed as such because they took a risk and got burned. Brooks is saying that you have to take the risk and look like a fool once in a while if you really want to live. |

I absolutely love this song! It's about how there are people who "dance within the flames" and take chances on love, even though they often end up getting hurt. And there are people who don't date or give thier hearts away. They have a wall up inside that protects them from getting hurt. |

I think this song is about finding God. I'm sorry if you don't agree. I think a lot of non-Christians don't like to admit that their favorite bands or songs have Christian ties. |

This song is about a guy who lost a girl because of his extreme ego. It's kind of a catch-22 because it says "you're so vain you probably think this song is about you" but it is about "you"! |

I agree with the symbolism that has already been stated by several people (King= Elvis, Quartet= Beetles, etc.) but I think that "the Day the Music Died" is refering to the day that the writer lost faith. "Satan laughing with delight" "Father, Son, and Holy Ghost took the last train to the coast" "Church bells all were broken" |

I see this song in two ways that make the most sense: 1) it's about rulers in general. absolute power corrupts absolutely... that kind of thing. No one person can rule forever because things change, ideas evolve, the world keeps spinning. Every ruler goes through a cycle, a rise and then a fall. 2) It's about Jesus. The religous references are pretty obvious, and the story line seems to fit. Jesus rules the world, seas part when he gives the word, yet he is treated like a street sweeper when he is on earth... i don't know it just seems to fit. |

This song is really motivational in my opinion. It's saying that you should never give up on life, and just keep trying even if you feel like there isn't a point anymore. |

I think this song could be about a shy person who doesn't know how to express their feelings. "Stay a while and maybe then you'll see a different side of me." Once you get to know the person you will see their real self. "Out of all the hours thinking Somehow I've lost my mind." They have lots of great thoughts but don't speak them.
