"Even heroes have the right to bleed" Even the strongest of people, the most self-assured, can feel inadequete sometimes. I think the feeling is actually worse for such people, because everyone expects them to have everything together, even if in truth, they don't. Maybe they think they have to keep everything together for the sake of the other people...like they don't want to burden them with their troubles or something. |

I absolutely love this song! I can't believe no one has commented on it yet! Barefoot Truth is an amazing band! As to the meaning of the song, I'm afraid I'm at a loss. Perhaps he doesn't want to live his life like a dream, a fantasy, a "movie roll". I guess he just wants that simplistic, natural life--REAL life and not all the fake and unreal aspects like in Hollywood or on TV. I'm not entirely sure about the actual meaning, but I guess this is a start. Does anyone else have any ideas? |

Jason Gray is an awesome artist, and his lyrics are especially amazing. This song, in particular, is a gem. I can't believe no one has commented on it yet. "We were made with these hearts, meant to be open. Then we locked them away, afraid of being broken." This is definitely my favorite part of the song; it's too true. From my own experience, I find it's hard to open up with people to share what's on my mind...what's heavy on my heart or my soul. It's hard to step down and make ourselves vulnerable. Society always praises people for their strength, but rarely ever do I see someone being affirmed for their weakness--their brokenness. We can't all be the 'golden boys (or girls)", however much we try to be. |
