i'm sorry to everyone that's going to hate on this comment, but common. seriously guys, this is the garbage you prefer to listen to? it is, unequivocably, about sex & promiscuity. i know, i probably sound like those fun-sucking, stuck up adults, but really, i'm just 15. i could never listen to anything like this, this which holds absolutely no meaning, other than to promote promiscuity & teenage/adult insecurity. i have no problem with her as a person, but i have a problem with her as an artist. this song is not art, or a poem, or a positive message. but whatev, listen at your own riskkkkk. |

While i can certainly see how this could be about relatable hardhops between a long distance couple, i prefer to see it from a different perspective. To me, this song is about a man & a woman, & the incapapability, so far, to close the gap in their relationship. "We're close, and then we run. Kiss away the difference. I know you hate this one, but this is how the story ends, or have we just begun to kiss away the difference?" - To me, that represents a constant divide in their relationship. And each time they face that issue, they have to choose whether to face it head on, or just give up on themselves entirely. So far, they have not been able to face it. But that one line "or have we just begun to kiss away the differnce" represents the hope that the immensity of their love is strong enough, and that they will soon be able to close that gap. I think the message of the song is universal and can be applied to any type of issue/gap in your relationship, but the one pictured here is perhaps a long distance relationship. "Scared to see your mother there in the dark" shows that the girl may have finally come to terms and decided to close the gap between her man, but she's scared to see that reminder there (her mother) as another reason to run from herself again. sorry it's so long, i tend to babble(: let me know if you agree. |
