Sneaker Pimps – 6 Underground Lyrics 7 years ago
@[therill:19013] wow....how amazing to read this!
I've been living in this very consevative city in Israel, and all these 30 some years of my life I've been considered weird and unorthodox because of my open mindness.
I've always had this song in my head, but now that I moved to what was supposed to be a more open minded city(tel aviv; the only one that could be somewhat considered a real city by international standards) I'm realizing it is indeed somewhat true (there are more open minded people here) but, alas, it's still Israel :(
it seems my future lies abroad after all.

Spice Girls – Say You'll Be There Lyrics 7 years ago
@[cofffin:17550] @[cofffin:17550] couldn't agree more!
I was 10 when this came out and I've always loved the music and had the lyrics stuck in my head, but only now, about 20 years later do I actually get what they're singing about; now that I'm involved in an unhealthy relationship with the most beautiful and charming woman in the world, and she just keeps pushing me away because she hasn't got the time right now...but I'm madly in love with her.
so I guess I just used to think that this song was indeed about a friend that's somewhat bothering this girl with feelings of being in love until she comes around and they hook up and all is well. hell, turns out she just keeps him at bay as a friend.
that's like the saddest thing ever! c'mon spice girls! that's not cool :(

@[missywoods:6648] your interpretation is so spot on to me.
I've heard this song by accident in a store the day before yesterday and the feeling of it clicked immediately.
for the last 2 days I've been listening to it and thinking about calling my ex and talking to her because I still love her and care for her quite a lot.
now I understand where that feeling came from. this song; the melody, the beat, the harmony, the lyrics....all come together to make a certain feeling.
amazing song.

Jamiroquai – Hot Tequila Brown Lyrics 14 years ago
I think it's generally about a person trying to change and become more positive and happy, and is not quite there yet, like HedgehogPie said.
I really love this song, it means a lot to me.

"How many times, can a man
Watch the sun rise over his head
Without feeling free"

- In my opinion it means that the person is sometimes able to "watch the sun rise" and feel free, but sometimes he just can't do it, so he's trying to change it.

"How many words, will fail me in my negligence
To arrest, oh yes, this crazy part of me"

- same thing. The person's trying to be more measured but he just slips sometimes and finds himself saying things he regrets later. things he didn't necessarily mean.

"How many fools, will I let
Unlock the door to my heart
When I know that, know that
They shouldn’t have had the key"

- pretty obvious, making mistakes about trusting ppl that shouldn't be trusted.

"It’s been so long, and the groove in my hearts nearly gone"

- Even though he already went through a lot in his life, he still menages to make a lot of mistakes which tire him and bit by bit take away the groove from his heart.

"Oh my heads in the clouds
But I’m landing on my feet"

- Aiming high but reaching only mediocrity.

"How many lives, will I lose
On the battle lines, inside my mind
I think I’ve had enough"

- Beating himself mentally every time he makes the slightest mistake, thinking of it over and over again. Can't take it anymore.

"All I want is to see my black eyes turn back to brown
cross that Rubicon, I think I really must "

- Wanting his genuine love for life back by crossing that Rubicon, making that big step of changing.

"Don’t shoot me down
The sun shining down, I’m hot tequila brown
Don’t shoot me down
I’m stone cold, but I’m lying here in the
Sunshine shining down"

- don't give up on me just yet, I'm currently in a bad state but I'll get better. Can't really tell what "hot tequila brown" means =\

Damn, this is such a powerful song.
Definitely about spiritual awakening, though I see it as self awareness and realizing what's important in this life. Love & emotional freedom.
