I saw a documentary on French TV about U2 and the Joshua Tree album a while ago. I remember Bono commenting on these lines: I see seven towers But I only see one way out He said that there was a working-class area of Dublin, that he had lived in, and heroine was wreaking havoc there. This neighbourhood had 7 towers and he felt at the time that there was no escaping from this place. This might be anachronical as this would have been the early 80's, but one can't help thinking of Veronica Guerin's assassination in 1996 and the movie that was drawn from this event. The movie depicts such an area of the town. |
