I give some merit to your comments - see my posting below - but suggest it wise not to generalize too broadly or conclusively about people dealing with depression, and I always find the 'they' word a bit stigmatizing when referring to people with an illness. Best wishes to you and your friend. |

all feelings are valid; and although sometimes stated in an absolute fashion don't need to be totally dismissed. after all the comments field asks "what does this song mean to YOU?" I go with the idea he has been a loner and love lost to that lifestyle once again, with a glimpse of depression and hints of suicidal thoughts and attaching her love as a reason not to follow through. Perhaps even a current long distance relationship - ie letters (or are they emails) - the feelings of loneliness because of distance in spite of reassuring words. Initially the name change part made me think she remarried, then my thinking changes. Maybe she too is a lonely spirit departed on her own journey; or do the name change reference and the 'curious' reference infer a homosexual relationship with TV/TG girl |
