I think this song is just about that empty hollow feeling you have when you lose someone who you truly had something great with, and that self-despairing feeling you get where you feel like nothing is going your way - "I dont care, I have no luck". It so sums that feeling, and I think anyone who has been through a break-up that has left them feeling "torn" can relate to this song. Brilliant lyrics. |

I think theres a mistake in the lyrics posted here - at the beginning of the second verse I think its supposed to be "Its because of you I feel so lifted" as opposed to "Its because of you I feel so tired". Fits in better with the entire mood of the song! As for the meaning of the song, I think its pretty self-explanatory, its about being with someone whos so amazing, that having them need you makes you realise that youre doing "something right". :) |

I think this song is about a girl who feels so completely lost, and as if she is insignificant - she does not matter to anyone. Until of course, at the end, she finally meets someone who understands her and hows she feeling. Meeting them changes her, and makes her finally feel worthwile. I always interpreted it as the singer is the one who meets the girl and makes her feel better about herself :) As for the interpretation of the writing, I took it to mean she was writing it in a diary. Love this song :) |
