i think that this is about a girl he's known for a long time, and suddenly he sees her in a new light, he spends time with her, "one crowded hour" means a special hour that so much happened in, possibly night spent making love with this girl, now he is in love with her, but this is going to be his ruin because she doesn't love him the same way. he calls it a "glorified screw" because he puts so much weight on it, but obvisouly she doesn't. |
