| Radiohead – Alligators in New York Sewers Lyrics | 13 years ago |

There's a solid chance the name of the song references Thomas Pynchon's novel V. which has a part dealing with one of the main characters joining the hunt for alligators in the sewers of New York. The reason why it's a solid chance is because Radiohead's W.A.S.T.E. shop is named after a secret post system in TP's second book, The Crying of Lot 49. |

| man, all this time I didn't have any idea what he was saying through most of this song. turns out it's really funny. it seems to be about Brock's atheism; the guy he talks to is probably Jesus, and he confirms his idea about no one being at the controls. Earlier he's in heaven and they don't know where to put him, ultimately giving him a menial job. but then it shifts into the meth part, maybe a resignation to just enjoying the ride | |

| Oddly enough (I guess, based on these comments) this is one of my favorites from "Fold Your Hands Child". It's not instep with typical B&S but it's interesting nonetheless. | |

| I've always heard "not here babe, in Tokyyyyyyyyyyooooooooooooo." It makes more sense too; not to say that SM was ever bound by conventionality in his songwriting but ... there you go | |
| The Libertines – HorrorShow Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Finally got around to reading a clockwork orange and within a few pages I immediately thought of this song (like many others here). I don't necessarily see much of the story within the lyrics, but I'd venture to guess that Pete's read it, so it's likely where he got 'horrorshow' | |

According to the booklet that came with the cd 'I'm walking past your house but I'm never going to stop THERE JUST TO look at my clock and think how you love talking CATS....' '.... ALWAYS SEXY HOW YOU CHEW THAT STRAW especially when you WEAR LACOSTE' 'all this LUST that you're keeping....' '.... LIVING in a tiny, OVERCROWDED town...' '.... TICKING raindrops upon my window pane YOU'RE texting too fast for me to reply....' I think everything else is right on. Great song. |

It's kind of a bummer how of few people know about these guys (or not at all a bummer, depending on how you look at it). Fantastic song though. All of them really. No idea what it means, but I was always the kid in school that interpreted poems and whatnot literally. |
