When she was asked about the song she said against popular belief, it's actually about making fun of the idea of "let's be friends so we can make out" because nower days alot of people don't really value a friendship are just being sluts. My interpretation... I definitely don't believe this could be the true meaning. I took a picture of a girl I once knew — picture as in a stage in his life with relationship with a girl. I kept it here incase I'd run into you — he cherished the relationship when it was over. The look on your face could light up a room - Describing how wonderful she was? But instead you left — But she changed or she rejected him. And now I'm sitting with my head on the dashboard - describing his literal position with out the dashboard and is doing it cause they aren’t together anymore. Push the seat back and close my eyes — another literal position perhaps laying on his bed instead. I had this dream that I was on an airplane, afraid to fly — dream as in he didn’t believe it. On an airplane afraid to fly meaning he didn’t want to move on. So i tipped my head to the side and I whispered to this man that was in the isle — thinking to himself. I said "do you know how long it takes before we die?" — not together with her is killing him. and then I rolled awake — got over it? Or got better and accepted it? Can you take me back to the person I used to be, back when you were there for me — wanting her to like him again like before. I know it seems like forever but do me a favor please — even though it was so long ago they were together.
