First! Booya. You all chumps =^]
Typical macho "I'm going to kill my enemies and aslo I'm very rich and powerful" male rapper stuff, but DMX is one of the best, so it sounds cool. Ol' Dirty Bastard is at his absolute best in this track. Ozzy's part was the only part with any real lyrical substance.
I think Ozzy is Death, and is pwned by some chick cause she has mojo he can't handle. But he didn't say stop.

Lyrically it's a mash up of a few songs. The Sotto voce lyrics were added on to give a war theme. I don't think it is especially anti-war, it's just referencing war. The Second verse (except for the counter melody) is taken word for word from a folk song. |

Sounds like we need a "Bass-Off"!! I'd like to nominate Fat Mike From NOFX. Listen to "The Decline" or "Glass War" to hear why. Let's not forget John Entwhistle and Jaco Pastorious. They're dead but still. |

Whatever emotion Fat Mike tries to evoke, he nails it every time. I've never heard a songwriter who can be so profound no matter what they write about. I love his work (and the band's), but how cold do you have to be to ignore your dying father? Did he molest him? Was Mike's family homeless? So what if he wasn't around much. There are a lot of kids that would love their fathers to fuck off forever. I'm not judging but it sounds like he hasn't forgiven him at all. I would have thought that after thirty-odd years and after becoming a mega-rich punk rocker,(an oxymoron if ever there was one) a father, husband and bass player/singer/songwriter with the most respected punk band of all time that he could, oh I don't know, get over it! |
