| Man I guess I'm just looking at this differently than anyone else. But this song sort of creeps me out. To ME it seems like a natural evil. A sinister kid who runs to meet his maker a drop dead sprint from the day he's born straight into his maker's arms... that's me the boy with the broken halo... Broken halo? and the devil won't let me be? Haha and he asks if he killed someone in first degree would she "flee" with him. Like just try to get away... and he's contemplating murder in the first degree? | |

Almost this whole album is about the war. So this is exactly what I interpret it to mean. "Just because I'm losing, Doesn't mean I'm lost Doesn't mean I'll stop, Doesn't mean I would cross" --as in, just because he is losing the fight against the war doesn't mean he'll stop agreeing, or cross the seas and fight the war. "Just waiting 'til the shine wears off" --waiting for the time when people will see that the war isn't good "You might be a big fish In a little pond Doesn't mean you've won 'Cause a long may come A bigger one" --America.. being the big fish. "Every gun you ever held went off Ohhh and I'm... Just waiting until the firing stopped Ohhh and I'm... Just waiting 'til the shine wears off" --self explanatory, i'd say that's just me though. of course songs are open to interpretations differently for everyone individually, and that's the great thing about music! But I just don't particularly like to mush an amazing band like coldplay into a category of ONLY having "love" songs. This album has incredible depth. |
