| I enjoyed hearing this tonight for the first time! Song is maybe about us as humans we think we are going to save the planet yet we wont give up the thing that is killing it. We are crazy, we fight each other like a storm but actually enjoy it because we as a society seem to profit from it. We see angels and we claim to be made in Gods image but she see's only demons. Read it like a chant from say and American Indian with a slow drum beat behind it! | |

| I'm not sure but would guess the song is not about what I'm about to write about: I think it's about the journey of musicians/bands journey from the underground music scene to mainstream attention in one of the most artistic way's to express that journey. I also don't hear it as "secluded freaks" but as "psychedelic freaks are still tryin, trying"! :-0 Great song and yes I found them through Wristcutters! And glad I have! | |

The Amorica album is so so f'n good! Listening to the tune today and rereading the lyrics to Descending, as I always think the lyrics go: no selfish memory. but it's memorandum! To all those that think it's a drug song, what the f does a memorandum have to do with drugs. Let's go beyond your addiction problems and think like me ;) The song is possible about the law as in lady justice, blind folded with her scale..ok go with me here,(open your eyes), back a few years before this Album TBC was taken to court over a contract that was supposedly written up on a napkin as to naming someone their manager: management fraud: Possible a song about the case, the court system and lady justice! Well that's how I was thinking about it today! It could also be about divorce and a break up! But as with most songs you take from it what you want to and where your at in life. Oh by the way please be reminded that this album was censored for it's cover art, f'n people and their damn hang ups! I'd much rather live in Amorica then America most days! |

Everyone's a building burning With no one to put the fire out Standing at the window looking out Waiting for time to burn us down Everyone's an ocean drowning With no one really to show how They might get a little better air If they turned themselves into a cloud (everyone is burning everyone man.. the industry, the internet, the fans, the band...{burning both in meaning to the copying music and slang to burn someone} but does anyone really know how to survive or live without all this shit, maybe MM needs to lighten up says the Industry so to get more airtime on the radio.... and that would be good for all, oh but would it, maybe thinks MM that the industry should lighten up about what they perceive as better) [So the tribe being MM is only trying to survive and all they are doing and wanting is to survive by doing what they love, playing music together, but all this other shit gets into the way thus it eventually gets into the process of their music and they sing about it, like a poet who writes in ways so those in power may not get??] MM is an awesome band and I have no idea if this is what they meant by this song but I spent all drunken Sunday thinking about it!
